Regulatory affairs under control – a digital solution for international requirements and compliance processes

In a highly complex, internationally regulated environment, transparent management of legal requirements is a key success factor. BITS developed a powerful application for the central administration and research of relevant legal requirements in different markets for a globally active group.

The aim was to create a central platform on which all regulatory requirements could be recorded and managed in a structured manner and made available to various user roles – from country managers to technical departments. The application supports users in obtaining information quickly and accurately, ensures legal obligations and contributes to efficient product development in compliance with local regulations.

In this project, BITS was responsible for the complete implementation of the application – from the functional and technical design, development and implementation through to operation and support. In addition, BITS provided support with project management, quality assurance, interface design and consulting for the optimization of business processes. This ensured that the solution was not only technically convincing, but also precisely tailored to the requirements of the users.

Challenge

Core challenges in the project:

Secure migration of large amounts of data: The aim was to transfer existing information to the new system landscape without any loss – and with maximum data integrity.

Realization

The project focused on the development of a powerful web application that serves as a central platform for managing and researching legal requirements relating to international vehicle registration. Together with the customer, BITS designed and implemented a solution that is not only technically impressive, but can also be seamlessly integrated into existing processes.

The application is based on a modular backend architecture with a relational database for the structured storage of large amounts of information. A modern, browser-based user interface enables intuitive navigation through complex sets of rules and offers a wide range of filter and search options. Users can configure their results individually and tailor the presentation of the content to their respective areas of responsibility.

A detailed role concept provides clear access rights and ensures that content can only be viewed or edited by authorized persons. The integrated editing and approval process with dual control principle creates trust and documents every change in a traceable history.

Additional functions such as export to tabular formats and complete multilingualism make the application a versatile tool for various specialist areas – from technical project management to legal evaluation. BITS was not only responsible for the technical implementation of the project, but also for consulting, design, project management and support – thus ensuring comprehensive support.
