Development and operation of the DACH wide Internet e-commerce platform www.getraenkedienst.com
Together with drink now GmbH as a specialist in the field of beverage distribution, BITS GmbH as a strategic IT partner has built up the Internet e-commerce platform www.getraenkedienst.com and successfully operates it to this day.
The e-commerce platform enables end customers to order beverages online and have them delivered to their offices or homes. Local beverage retailers take care of last-mile delivery – digitally supported by platform functions and individually implemented interfaces, tools, and mobile and browser-based apps.
The tasks of BITS cover all digital aspects, starting with the IT strategy to the individual software development, the connection of the heterogeneous retailer systems to the backend systems up to the stable operation of the DACH-wide Internet platform.

In 2022, together with BITS, we successfully placed the platform beyond Germany in Austria as well.”
Challenge
The goal was to become a central point of contact for the end customer for ordering beverages on the Internet and to include local structures such as retailers and suppliers.
One of the greatest challenges was to digitize a previously analog industry, for example, in order to map heterogeneous retailer systems with a wide variety of requirements for pricing, delivery costs, discounts, product ranges, delivery times, payment systems, etc. on a common homogeneous platform and to connect them individually.
At the same time, the task was to develop tools for optimizing logistics, with special requirements for capacity and route planning as well as delivery execution and deposit management, and to roll them out to the participating partners.
In addition to a web portal and management applications and tools, a mobile app also had to be developed. In addition, the platform should be able to be found well on the Internet, i.e. SEO optimization has a very high priority.
The DACH expansion in 2022 brought with it additional requirements for country-specific regulations and logics that had to be implemented.
Realization
As a starting point for the realization a standard store software was used, which was extended by a multitude of functions.
In addition to multi-client capability, logistics optimization, route planning and deposit management, a wide variety of ERP dealer systems were connected and a large number of interfaces were implemented and further optimized over time.
The system was set up to be scalable from the outset in order to be able to react quickly to increasing numbers of users.
At the same time, a large number of SEO optimizations were integrated, so that www.getraenkedienst.com can now almost always be found on page 1 in Google under the relevant keywords.
Most recently, the system was adapted to the requirements of the DACH market and launched with the first Austrian partners.
